What about the bodies

a narrative film in no language

Here's a little film from Simon Ellis which has me in the main role. This was a lot of fun to shoot and thought I should put it out there. It was shot up by the Lake District in England and was a bit nippy. we shot on a PD 170 so you can see it's a little grainy. This film won a couple of awards. You can check out more from Simon on his website at bubtowers.com.au

Memorize - Short Film

a narrative film in no language

Written & Directed by Eric Ramberg and Jimmy Eriksson

Director's note: We shot this piece in Sweden (Gävle, Strängnäs and Uppsala) on a "shoestring budget", using just one 5D-Mark II-camera (with Canon L-series lenses). Our very first mission was actually to help another company (Quixel) with some live-action shots/scenes to simply showcase their new texture-tool for 3d-models in games and movies, but instead we came up with this concept idea and created a full blown short film. Primarily, we wanted to do something visual and entertaining to simply present this concept and showcase Quixel's tools.
We did almost everything our self (with some 3d/texture/sfx help) and we used close friends/family members to be "actors", including myself playing the main character. So I guess that's why the acting isn't top notch and why we didn't use so much dialogue ;) BUT we also wanted to keep it very visual, we wanted to tell a story with pictures (and UI-text of course). That was a big challenge but I think we succeeded. In the end we're happy with the end result considering the conditions and people really seem to like it! That's awesome to see and very rewarding! / Jimmy & Eric"

a narrative film in no language

One astronaut's journey through space and life ends on a hostile exosolar planet. Grounded is a metaphorical account of the experience, inviting unique interpretation and reflection by the viewer. Themes of aging, inheritance, paternal approval, cyclic trajectories, and behaviors passed on through generations are explored against an ethereal backdrop.

Mark Osborne's MORE

an experimental film in no language

Nominated for an Academy Award and awarded the Best Short Film at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival, MORE is a stop-motion mixed-media short film written and directed by Mark Osborne, the co-director of Kung Fu Panda and the upcoming animated feature film based on the iconic book The Little Prince.

MORE tells the story of an old, tired inventor as he struggles through joyless life in a drab and passionless society, leading the same cold and colorless existence accepted by the identical drones around him. At once tortured and inspired by his dreaming of and yearning for his younger carefree days, he struggles to finish the invention he hopes will give his life meaning and worth. His world, and the world of those around him, is transformed when his secret invention is completed. However, his subsequent success does not come without sacrifice. The inventor realizes that the true essence of his inspiration cannot be manufactured...

" WANDER IN PORTO " is one of my travel series video.
I really like having no plans when i'm in unfamiliar place. I just wanders which makes me face unplanned situations and people. Sometimes I can melt into their daily life and have a deep relationship.

After walking camino in spain , i went to porto for having a break time in portugal.
And then, i fell in love with its scenery, people, colors and so on. I decided to capture its beauty and stay more than i expected. Hope you enjoy my video.

Arka Grzegorz Jonkajtys 2007

a narrative film in no language

Film animowany w reżyserii Grzegorza Jonkajtysa z 2007 roku.
Opis pochodzi z www.culture.pl

An unknown virus has destroyed almost the entire human population. Oblivious to the true nature of the disease, the only remaining survivors escape to the sea. In great ships, they set off in search of uninhabited land. So begins the exodus, led by one man ...

Through the eyes of a young girl suffering from mental illness, CALDERA glimpses into a world of psychosis and explores a world of ambiguous reality and the nature of life and death.

CALDERA is inspired by my father's struggle with schizoaffective disorder. In states of delusion, my father has danced on the rings of Saturn, spoken with angels, and fled from his demons. He has lived both a fantastical and haunting life, but one that's invisible to the most of us. In our differing understanding of reality, we blindly mandate his medication, assimilate him to our marginalizing culture, and entirely misinterpret him for all he is worth. CALDERA aims to not only venerate my father, but all brilliant minds forged in the haunted depths of psychosis.

CALDERA was helmed by Evan Viera (Director/Composer/Co-Writer) and Chris Bishop (Co-writer/Animation Supervisor/Story Artist) and was produced at Hampshire College. CALDERA was the first film to go through the Bit Films Incubator Program, where founder and professor Chris Perry (co-producer/editor) invites orphaned independent films to be made on campus with the College's students and resources. MANY students and industry professionals generously donated their time to the making of this film. See below for the full credits list.
