Tierra y Pan (Land and Bread) short film - Winner of Golden Lion at Venice

a narrative film in no language

**Read the AMERICAN CINEMATOGRAPHER article about this short at: www.dpisi.com/press/

Winner of over a dozen film festivals, including the Golden Lion in Venice and published in the American Cinematographer Magazine of June 2010, Land and Bread is a piece of art that could only be achived through film.

A quiet journey to a forsaken land where hunger turns the heart into a desert landscape.

"The goal was to create a slow hypnotic mere move as we witness the surroundings of the tragic events happening off-screen" -- Carlos Armella -- Director

With what seems as one single shot trough a day, Isi Sarfati and Carlos Armella developed a technique to achieve this suttle camera movement. Sarfati calls it a human motion control.

Shot with an Arricam
Lens: Optimo 24-290

Kappa-Chan

a narrative film in no language

When his best friend moves away, a little boy is left all alone. But help can come from unexpected places. Very unexpected places…

Taking advantage of both the warmth of traditional animation and the strength of digital programs, Kappa-Chan is a simple story about friendship and it's sometimes unexpected forms. A small boy feels like he's lost it all when his best friend moves away. But when an unexpected visitor appears, the boy discovers not only that it may not be the end but maybe also the beginning of something new.

Thanks so much for watching and we hope you enjoy!

Undone

A drifting man struggles to pull objects from the roiling sea below him and scrambles to keep the objects from slipping through his fingers. A stop-motion animation using textured and tactile materials, as well as personal imagery, that represents the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. Inspired by my grandfather.
