What about the bodies

a narrative film in no language

Here's a little film from Simon Ellis which has me in the main role. This was a lot of fun to shoot and thought I should put it out there. It was shot up by the Lake District in England and was a bit nippy. we shot on a PD 170 so you can see it's a little grainy. This film won a couple of awards. You can check out more from Simon on his website at bubtowers.com.au

Arka Grzegorz Jonkajtys 2007

a narrative film in no language

Film animowany w reżyserii Grzegorza Jonkajtysa z 2007 roku.
Opis pochodzi z www.culture.pl

An unknown virus has destroyed almost the entire human population. Oblivious to the true nature of the disease, the only remaining survivors escape to the sea. In great ships, they set off in search of uninhabited land. So begins the exodus, led by one man ...

Memorize - Short Film

a narrative film in no language

In 2027, everyone is implanted with a chip - the Memorize-chip. It records everything you see, a new system to fight crime. One unit controls the system. The SSU - Special Surveillance Unit.

Written & Directed by Eric Ramberg and Jimmy Eriksson

Director's note: We shot this piece in Sweden (Gävle, Strängnäs and Uppsala) on a "shoestring budget", using just one 5D-Mark II-camera (with Canon L-series lenses). Our very first mission was actually to help another company (Quixel) with some live-action shots/scenes to simply showcase their new texture-tool for 3d-models in games and movies, but instead we came up with this concept idea and created a full blown short film. Primarily, we wanted to do something visual and entertaining to simply present this concept and showcase Quixel's tools.
We did almost everything our self (with some 3d/texture/sfx help) and we used close friends/family members to be "actors", including myself playing the main character. So I guess that's why the acting isn't top notch and why we didn't use so much dialogue ;) BUT we also wanted to keep it very visual, we wanted to tell a story with pictures (and UI-text of course). That was a big challenge but I think we succeeded. In the end we're happy with the end result considering the conditions and people really seem to like it! That's awesome to see and very rewarding! / Jimmy & Eric"

One astronaut's journey through space and life ends on a hostile exosolar planet. Grounded is a metaphorical account of the experience, inviting unique interpretation and reflection by the viewer. Themes of aging, inheritance, paternal approval, cyclic trajectories, and behaviors passed on through generations are explored against an ethereal backdrop.

IT'S GETTING LATE - Miu Miu Women's Tales #4

a narrative film in no language

Miu Miu Women's Tales
It's Getting Late, directed by Massy Tadjedin

In the translucent LA dusk we discover four women living very different lives. The camera follows each as they wind down their working days, their four stories weaving together as each prepares for their evening.

Shot by Iranian-American screenwriter and director, Massy Tadjedin, with a stellar international cast, Aubrey Plaza, Gemma Arterton, Patricia Clarkson and Rinko Kikuchi, culminating in a gripping cameo performance by rising songstress, Zola Jesus.

"We make our faces, our suits, our selves just a little more ready for wherever it is we're going. Fashion is never just the clothes. It's our mood, our excitement for something, our expectations, our attitudes, our outlooks. Managing those is often what getting ready is all about and that's what our short tries to capture." Massy Tadjedin

The four women quietly take part in their private acts of preparation, but the transformation is also psychological, as they take stock of the day and mentally prepare for the evening ahead.

It's Getting Late is the fourth film in Miu Miu's series of short films, the Women's Tales, by leading female directors, Zoe Cassavetes, Lucrecia Martel and Giada Colagrande. Each film explores the feminine love affair with Miu Miu through the lens of their diverse sensibilities.

Through the eyes of a young girl suffering from mental illness, CALDERA glimpses into a world of psychosis and explores a world of ambiguous reality and the nature of life and death.

CALDERA is inspired by my father's struggle with schizoaffective disorder. In states of delusion, my father has danced on the rings of Saturn, spoken with angels, and fled from his demons. He has lived both a fantastical and haunting life, but one that's invisible to the most of us. In our differing understanding of reality, we blindly mandate his medication, assimilate him to our marginalizing culture, and entirely misinterpret him for all he is worth. CALDERA aims to not only venerate my father, but all brilliant minds forged in the haunted depths of psychosis.

CALDERA was helmed by Evan Viera (Director/Composer/Co-Writer) and Chris Bishop (Co-writer/Animation Supervisor/Story Artist) and was produced at Hampshire College. CALDERA was the first film to go through the Bit Films Incubator Program, where founder and professor Chris Perry (co-producer/editor) invites orphaned independent films to be made on campus with the College's students and resources. MANY students and industry professionals generously donated their time to the making of this film. See below for the full credits list.

The Girl Is Mime - Starring Martin Freeman

a narrative film in no language

Did the mime commit the crime? Clive Buckle is being questioned about the murder of his wife. Interrogation brings back a slew of memories, some good, some bad...some sexy. The police are convinced he did it, they just need a weapon; but Clive's saying nothing.

The film was made for the London 48 Hour Film Project, 2010. We funded it entirely ourselves, hence why we have included the little 'Tip Jar' button... don't feel you have to though, we won't go hungry or anything. However, if you laughed, it's a £1,000 minimum.
