Jubilee Project is excited to share "Blind Devotion", the second in a series of two short films about unconditional love, in partnership with Pastor Francis Chan and his latest book "You and Me Forever".

“You and Me Forever” was written by Francis and his wife Lisa on marriage in the light of eternity. Today, 100% of all proceeds from book sales go towards fighting poverty in Africa - projects like building a safe haven village for young women rescued out of prostitution.

There will also be a “You and Me Forever” book mobile app in the App Store & Google Play soon, where “Blind Devotion” will also be available for viewing. In the meantime, the physical book can be purchased at http://bit.ly/1G8Qbnu.

~ FESTIVAL JUROR COMMENTS from Greg Kinnear, Tom Anton, Blair Daily

" Writing/Production/Acting all outstanding. Intriguing story well executed (no pun intended) and kept your attention throughout. Compelling use of visual/sound effects particularly the way the card scraping the beard was used to enhance the tension.
Use of slow motion, time lapse and close-ups was perfect for the scenes. Interesting twist at the end, thought provoking. Even the main character’s tattoos tell a story. The set up of the assassin having to take out his friend was a great part of the story. Very well made. Smart. Unexpected. Excellent."

Episode 7: (Not) Going to School

a report in English

What prevents kids from going to school and how can education respect traditional culture while also teaching modern skills?

Take action and find more resources on the Change Series website: http://bit.ly/NotGoingtoSchool

Playing soccer with the village kids every day, we realize that Regina's family can't even afford to send her to the public school. Why is there still a huge education gap between the rich and the poor in Guatemala if the government provides free public school? This gets us thinking about how an education gap prevents kids from indigenous families from learning Spanish. What effect does this language barrier have on someone's ability to get a formal job, travel to a big city or even visit a hospital?

ROSA

a narrative film in no language

ROSA is an epic sci-fi short film that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where all natural life has disappeared. From the destruction awakes Rosa, a cyborg deployed from the Kernel project, mankind’s last attempt to restore the earth’s ecosystem. Rosa will soon learn that she is not the only entity that has awakened and must fight for her survival.
The short-film was created entirely by young comic-artist Jesús Orellana with no budget during a single year. Since it's world premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival, ROSA has been an official selection at film festivals around the world such as Screamfest, Toronto After Dark, Anima Mundi or Los Angeles Shorts Film Festival. In October ROSA was screened at the opening night of the Sitges International Film Festival, considered the world's best festival specialized in genre films. Following the succesful festival run, the short film has attracted the attention of the major talent-agencies and Hollywood producers. Currently ROSA is in development to be a live-action motion picture.

SPARK AND LIGHT - Miu Miu Women's Tales #7

a narrative film in English

Spark and Light is directed by So Yong Kim. It's the seventh commission from Miu Miu Women's Tales, the acclaimed short-film series by women who critically celebrate femininity in the 21st century.

"Mom's stable, asleep. Drive safe! Xoxo Dad."

Soon after Elizabeth receives this text message, her mother isn't the only one lost in sleep. Elizabeth's car has broken down. It's freezing cold, no sign of life nearby. She just has to wait, patiently. The recovery guys will be here soon, Elizabeth. Till then, she warms her young hands on the vents, drifts into a strange slumber, followed by an even more surreal awakening. Icelandic landscapes merge with Elizabeth's memories. Fears are magically transformed into comforting and fantastical fabrics. Father, upstairs, alone.

This latest addition to Women's Tales is redolent of So Yong Kim's previous features—such as For Ellen, Treeless Mountain and Inbetween Days, which won a Special Jury Prize at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. "I've always been obsessed with family dynamics," says the Korean born American writer and director, "I'm always trying to develop my understanding of that."

In the new film, we see this take the shape of a mother divided in two: one unconscious on a hospital bed; the other vibrantly alive surrounded by love. Riley Keough's acute performance as Elizabeth paired with the poetic isolation of Iceland effectively multiplies the size of this dream-like story.

It adds new intellectual and emotional colour to the Miu Miu Women's Tales series: that twilight space between childhood, adulthood and mortality.
